History

Gateway Medical was founded in 1989 and located at the Shelley Street site in 1994 (1400 square feet). On January 1, 1999, Morningview Investments, LLC, owned by James and Jane Boren, purchased the company and appointed Jane Boren, RN as the General Manager. In January 2001, the company enlarged its warehouse to make a total of 4800 square feet. August 2002, the company moved to a larger office/warehouse space (8400 square feet) still located at 302 Shelley Street. The company serves the greater Lane County area and provides a wide variety of home medical equipment and supplies.

Mission Statement

Gateway Medical Equipment sells, rents and repairs medical equipment and supplies to people directly and through residential living settings such as assisted living facilities, residential care facilities and nursing homes. We provide rehabilitation and mobility equipment, oxygen and respiratory equipment, support surfaces, and a variety of other supplies (incontinent, wound care, ostomy, etc.) and equipment. We maintain a professional staff of respiratory therapists, seating specialists and others.

Gateway Medical supplies high-quality products. We also require that each employee provide excellent customer service and an appropriate public presence to all our customers. Our customers include the person for whom the equipment/supply is purchased or rented, the bill payer, physicians, facility staff, insurance companies, vendors, coworkers and others. Each encounter we have with the public can affect our ability to do business. Therefore, employees make every effort to assure that all their public contacts are positive ones.
